hiya there! i’m so bored right now. got nothing to do but wanna do something. so, i decided to write this blog. er..okay, type actually. eh.. no. it’s post. so hard to find a right word. lol. actually my head has gone a bit ..uh y’know. 4 am in the morning. inactive brain.
yossh! i’m trying to activate it. >_< hihi… just now i’v just posted my short story, havent i? well, if you think it’s lame, plz leave a comment okay. hehe… b’cos i wanna learn from my mistakes. i know it’s not really an amazing story (as i said in my blog before) but if you’ve got anything to say, just let me know kay. that story is actually an updated one. y’know, ppl tend to have better idea after they’ve done something. but it’s okay. i just wrote down all my ideas so that i’m satisfied though that’s not what i handed in to sensei. (T_T)
i don’t know why, lately i’ve been feeling quite strange feelings. lol. i started to miss ppl. my younger sisters especially. miss them so much! miss my buddies, the times we spent together, hanging around. wish i could turn back time but i know it’s impossible. b’cos i’ve heard someone saying ‘the nearest thing with us is death n the furthest thing is our past’. sad huh? sometimes when i walked around here, unintendedly i recalled the early times we’re here. how i used to hang around with my ex-classmates, loitered late at night, and stuff we don’t do anymore today. ppl have really changed. do i too have to change? i dont want to. but i know, some day i’ll have to. like before, it’s actually quite hard for me to adapt with things here. i’m the only girl came from far away (as they said) though i didnt think my home was that far. to me, it was just a phone call away. but still, at that moment, sometimes i thought that i dont want this. how good it’d feel if i chose to just stay at home. because when i was here, i felt not belonged to. this aint my home. what worse is, it’s as if even my home at neko machi is not also my home b’cause in a year, i’m not going to spend even more than a month there. when i realized that there’s no turning back, i have to accept it. i know i’m going to experience this for more than 5 years from now on. at that time, i’ll be 24 years old maybe? and my li’l sisters will be 18 and 19. wow. how fast ppl grow. they must’ve changed into someone else by that time. thinking back, they’re so cute when they’re li’l. played around with them, made them laugh, made them cry. it was such a wonderful moment. that’s why, everytime i have the chance to spend my time with them, i’ll spend as much time as i can. ;’)
my next semester break is in march and i’ve booked my return ticket. of course i can’t book my ticket to kuching yet b’cos i don’t know if there’s any activities or changes. that’s why i’m quite mad at the administration here. they don’t consider student like me who have to book flight ticket. i know there are only 3 students who are from ‘over the sea’. but, don’t they know that the ticket should be booked much earlier than the flight date?? shoot. pls la.. flight is the only way for me to go back home and no one has ever considered about this. it might be easy for other students because if they wanna go back home, they just have to call their parents to pick them up or buy the bus tickets (which, obviously, can even be bought at the last minute because the possibility for the ticket to be sold out is not like flight ticket). compared to me? moreover my ticket is muuchhh more expensive than theirs and there’s no extra scholarship for the tickets. y’know, my other friends who also got scholarship from jpa for instance, they are given rm500 to buy tickets to go back home. actually, it’s still not enough but at least it can cover up some of the cost. i really don’t wanna be a burden to my parents. they frequently asked me to confirm when’s my holiday but i cant because i don’t have the authority to ask the administrator here to plan things earlier and tell me when my holiday would be. well, they always plan at the last minute. i dot wanna be like the before. i had to buy a new ticket just becaused of the motivation camp which was held before our holiday. and we were informed just a week before it. of course at that time i had bought my ticket. so when i told my parents bout the camp, i thought the ticket could just be changed (the date and time). but i just found out that they were actually buying a new one because it couldn’t be changed. don’t you understand how guilty i felt?? i hope i can buy my ticket on my own. i don’t care if i have to save my scholarship. but mom told me that i have to have credit card to buy the ticket. what am i supposed to do? i think maybe someday i’ll apply for a credit card. my parents still have to manage my sis’s and my bro’s stuff (such as tickets and monthly pocket money) i don’t want to burden them.
seems like this time i’ve written much too long. gomen. hehe. didn’t realize it. i just wanna let my blog know how i feel. but still, i’ve other things to tell. lol. it’s not fair if you’re just reading my complains. must gotta be some good story eh? J
this week i’m learning my favourite topic in maths! hihi.. so excited. but unfortunately i’ve forgotten the way i had learnt the topic in school. L so sad, because i think i really understood the topic back then. maybe i can ask my bro to bring my textbook here.hihi.. he’s at home now so i can ask him to. while in Japanese language class, i’ve been transferred to a new class ‘shichi-go-san’ which means ‘7-5-3’. this time our class names are based on the festivals in japan. shichi go san is like our children’s day. day for kids aged 3 to 7 (if i’m not mistaken). this class is fine, though there’s something unwanted happened but i have to accept it. hehe.. plz don’t understand what i mean.
well then, it’s already 5 am. gotta go dude. jaane!

Late Blossom
“Herexon!!” Carolina Wyatt murmured under her breath with full concentration and a firm grasp on her wand. She waited for a moment. Nothing happened. She tried once again, with more concentration. “HEREXON!” she spelled with louder voice. And..”Splash!” the next thing she knew was that her face was smeared with her hot chocolate.
“Hahahaha!!” She heard a bunch of kids laughed at her. One of them said, “You should practise with crumpled paper next time or you’ll dirt yourself again. Hahaha!” Then they ran away.
Carolina bit her red lips. ‘I’m always like this,’ she said to herself. She realized that as a witch, Herexon was one of the basic spells. Even a 5-year-old child could do that. It was never hard to move an object close to them. But it was ‘them’, not ‘her’, she thought. Why? She always asked herself. Why could not she make such a simple spell? She was 16 years old and yet she was not able to do even a simple spell properly. She always ended up fooling herself.
It was one of her self-intensive-learning evening. Feeling frustrated as usual, she managed to go home, could not care less of all the unpleasant words thrown to her anywhere she went, anytime she lived. She was determined to ignore them. But deep in her heart, she was actually disturbed. She wanted to be a normal witch. She did not need to be the best of the best. Being normal was good enough for a person like her. She was quite a history of her village. There was never a witch neither a wizard who was as clumsy as she was. That was why everyone hated her. Even her own family hated her. She was not only a black sheep of her family; she was also a spoil for her village. Everyone seemed to hate her. Everyone seemed to ignore her as if she did not even exist. Everyone tried to avoid her.
At night, Carolina loved taking a stroll at the park, and of course, alone. She felt as if the darkness of night can hide her weak magic. However, without Carolina herself realising why, that night she went to a bookshop. She looked around and found a book that caught her eyes. She read the golden written title.
“Know Your Weaknesses and Gain More Power”
Maybe this would help, she thought. She checked the price of the book and sighed. She could never afford such an expensive book. However, she really needed the book. After giving a five seconds thought, she decided to steal it. At first, she was hesitated and was afraid if anyone would find her stealing book. “But it’s okay. There are plenty more books in this shop. No one would care if I steal one,” she said to herself quietly in order to calm herself down. She was just about to hide the book in her robe when a rough hand grabbed her arm, stopping her action.
Carolina was shocked. She was very, very shocked indeed. Then she looked up at the man that ruined her plan. There was a good-looking blue-eyed young man standing beside her, and still holding her hand. ‘Shoot, how come I let a cute guy catching me red handed?’ she thought.
“What did you intend to do?” the guy finally asked after 15 seconds holding Carolina’s soft hand. She tried hard to release her hand but unluckily the charming young man was too strong. ”Don’t you have money to buy this?” Carolina’s face blushed after those words were thrown to her. She knew that she could not afford to buy what she wished for. But her weak power had forced her to do so. With her chubby red face looking down, the young enchanting man pulled her hand towards the door silently. He did not want anybody to notice what he was doing.
It was windy that day. Carl Arendt. It was the name written on the notebook the man was holding. ‘Ok, he’s Carl anyway,’ Carolina told herself. No wonder she felt familiar with the face. Carl was her schoolmate. A famous one. She was fascinated because Carl was not only a famous pleasing to the eye guy in her school but also a smart wizard. Before, she just heard about Carl’s powerful magic but did not really recognize him. And yet, it was just like a dream that Carl was standing in front of her and caught her red handed.
“Did you know that to gain power is not by stealing things? Your power would only get weaker.” Carolina was still looking down. She was so embarrassed. She did not expect that this would happen.
“I did not mean to sneak the book, but people around, they are so annoying. They laughed when my magic did not work. I myself do not know why my power is not like anybody else. I am so weak.” suddenly Carolina explained everything that made Carl flabbergasted. He thought that the young girl had lost her words, but he was wrong.
“Whatever.” Carl did not seem to care about her and started to walk away.
“I’m not like you. You’re a great wizard and you would not know how I feel.” Carolina blurted out. She could not stand anymore.
Carl stopped.
“Where do you school?” Carl asked gently. “Same as yours,” replied the dainty Carolina.
“Meet me at 2 after school at the underground storeroom,” said Carl as he faded away.
‘Is that true?’ Carolina asked herself back unbelievably. A brainy wizard seemed like he was going to teach her magic so that she could improve herself. Again, she felt like dreaming. Everybody paid no heed to her before because of her feeble power. Soon, she would be at least a working spelled witch one day, she thought.
* * *
Looking at her aged watch, Carolina watched her stepped walking down the underground stairs. It was five minutes earlier she came. She was so nervous she could hear her heart pounding. When it was exactly 2 o’clock, she could see a well turned-out man entering the door.
“Is it okay for you to teach me? I mean, if someone finds out, you would be humiliated you know,” she asked Carl.
“It’s okay. How about you?” he replied.
“I’m fine. I’m getting used to all the humiliations and annoyance. I’m worried about you, because you’re a famous person.”
“Don’t worry about me. I can handle it. Let’s get started,” he said as she prepared to be tutored.
Grinning from ear to ear, Carolina sang as she walked home happily. She never felt this way before. Her EXTRA class she had today really encouraged her to be a better witch. Carl was so a kindhearted person. He was the only one who did not down on her. Carolina just wanted to be a normal witch. And that was what Carl was trying to train her.
Carolina’s EXTRA class was running smoothly as usual until one day. As she waited patiently at the corner of that quite old storeroom, Carl came with a furious face. Without any reason, Carl started shouting at her, talking about things she did not know. ‘Is that Carl that she knows?’ she thought. Feeling frustrated with Carl’s action, she decided to run away from him, leaving him alone in that small storeroom.
‘Why is this happening?’ This question kept repeating itself in her mind. She was so upset that she made up her mind to escape from her irritating society. She could not stand it anymore. Everybody was trying to destroy her. Maybe somebody was envy with her until they made up story, so that Carl would hate her. That was what she thought. Either it was true or not, only God knows.
It was getting darker. Carolina felt cold because she just had a pink dull gown on her body. Step by step she walked exhaustedly on the dry leaves with the help of the full moon, did not know where it led her to, until she finally so tired that she was lying on the ground and lost her consciousness.
* * *
As she opened her small brown eyes, she was anxious of her surrounding.
‘Where am I?’
There was no one she could see in the room. However, she noticed weird ornaments were placed nicely on the cupboard and tables.
Suddenly, an old woman appeared next to her, offering a cup of hot chocolate, expecting her to drink.
“Where am I?” again she asked curiously.
The old woman was quiet until a few minutes she began to talk. “Don’t worry young lady. You are safe. You just need some rest.”
“Who are you?” she asked while her shivering hand accepted the hot chocolate.
The old woman smiled.
“You don’t have to know who I am. It doesn’t matter anyway. It’s for me to know and for you to wonder about.”
“Oh… I guess I’d better get going. I don’t know who you are and that’s dangerous for me to stay with stranger,” Carolina said with an obvious worry look on her face. ‘She might be a bad witch who wanted to kill me and cook me for her dinner,’ she thought.
“Hahaha… If I l let you go, where are you going to go? Home? School? Is there anywhere in the world that someone would accept you? Okay then. Just consider me as your grandmother. I’ll take care of you as long as you would stay. By the way, my name is Elizabeth. That’s all I can tell you for now.”
Carolina was touched when she heard that the old woman that called herself a ‘grandmother’ said that she would care for her. Her bad thoughts of the old woman somehow were quickly faded by themselves.
“Okay, Grandma Elizabeth,” she finally said with a smile.
Since that day, Carolina felt as if she was reborn. Perhaps it was the first time she felt being loved and cared for. To her, Elizabeth was a very kind witch. She was not just an ordinary witch. Carolina read Elizabeth’s books and was attracted to them. They were written by Elizabeth herself. That was why she adored Elizabeth. Elizabeth was smart, and yet very kind. She had told Elizabeth everything that had happened in her sad life, her weak magic, how people treated her, how her family ignored her, and also what Carl did to her. Elizabeth did not say a thing. She always remained silent when Carolina told her anything.
But one day, Carolina asked Elizabeth how to overcome her problems and to become at least a witch that could use her power.
“Listen Carolina, a true witch does not depend on their power, it depends on the heart. Even though you feel that your magic is weak, do believe that you have a strong heart. Some witch or wizard may be powerful in their magic and use it for a good reason. And some may not. Remember, the most powerful magic of all is when you want to protect something that should be protected,” explained the old woman without moving her eyes from Carolina’s face.
Carolina did not really understand what Elizabeth meant but she did not ask any further. Besides, she was sleepy at that time and wanted to go to bed.
Suddenly she heard a loud cold laughter outside the house.
“Stay inside Carolina!” warned Elizabeth. Then she hurried away, going outside.
Carolina obeyed her order. She stayed in the house and curiously peeped through the curtain. She saw a middle-aged guy outside the house, and her Grandma Elizabeth was approaching him. They seemed to have a little conversation and unexpectedly the guy hex Elizabeth. Carolina was shocked and quickly went to her room. There was possibility the guy might then hex her if he found out that she was in the house. He did not seem kind though.
After about half an hour, Carolina was sure that the guy was gone. She did not hear anything except for the sound of frogs and crickets. Then she went outside and found Elizabeth was lying on the ground unconsciously.
“Grandma! Grandma!” she called out and shook Elizabeth’s body.
No respond.
Carolina checked her pulse. Realizing there was no pulse, she felt a cold shiver in her neck. “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” uncontrollably the scream was out of her mouth.
“Uh… Carol.. Don’t scream too loud,” suddenly the thought-to-be-dead-old-woman spoke.
Carolina was frozen. ‘Am I facing a ghost or what?’ she asked herself. She looked petrified.
Looking at Carolina frightened face, Elizabeth could not control letting a chuckle. “Dear, dear carol… You must have thought I was dead. I was not! I’m still so alive as you can see! I was just pretending to be dead or he will kill me until I’m really dead.”
“He? Who’s ‘he’ anyway?” asked Carolina.
“It was my son, Ben Arendt. He wanted to kill all his family. I fought him for several times but he was very powerful and I am getting weaker due to my age. He said he is going to do it tonight…” whisper Elizabeth weakly.
Carolina thought for a moment. She felt familiar with the name Arendt. Carl! She finally recalled. No wonder she had heard rumours about Carl’s dad were influenced by evil or something bad. But she was not sure if that was true.
After placing Elizabeth in bed and let her taking a rest, Carolina was determined to find Ben Arendt. She wanted to protect her Grandma Elizabeth and also Elizabeth’s unexpected grandson, Carl. Carl’s Mom? She was dead years ago, Carolina remembered Carl told her during her EXTRA class. ‘Dead people are safe, do not need to be protected’, she thought. And Carl was the only child of his family.
She headed to Carl’s house and accidentally bumped into his Dad who was standing in front of his house.
“I knew you would come, stupid girl,” he said with an evil grin.
Did not know why, Carolina did not felt any fear. All she wanted to do was to protect Elizabeth and Carl. This time she was going to do it. Magically she remembered all the things she read from Elizabeth’s book. She gripped her wand tightly and ready for a match.
“Got guts eh? I bet I’ve got more. Hahaha!!!” Ben Arendt raised his wand.
“Forenza Myzora!” Carolina spelled before Ben could do anything. Could not believe her eyes, she saw Ben was thrown backward. ‘I did it!’ she thought and felt a little triumph in her heart.
“So you read her book as I can see. She was smart enough to create her own spell. But you’re a fool for looking for death here” he said and got on his feet.
“Lucifus!” Ben shouted.
“Proteconum!” the spell came out from Carolina’s mouth just precisely after Ben attacked her. A green light surrounded her as her protection shield. The bright red light that looked like a red thunder coming out from Ben’s wand seemed to be blocked by her protection shield. But it was not for long. She felt that her shield was not strong enough.
“Stoptazmo!” Carolina heard Carl’s voice. All of a sudden the thunder-like light faded and Ben looked at Carl who was pointing his wand at his own Dad.
“You can’t attacked me, son. Don’t you know that magic could not attack his own family member? Or, are you going to follow me?” Ben faced his son.
“Of course I‘m not. Only filthy evil magic could be used to attack family members. I know that for a fact. And I’m not going to be like you although you’re my own Dad.” Carl’s face seemed emotionless. “I can’t attack you, but I can block your spells. I hope I’m able to kill you.”
“Well, I am!” Carolina raised her voice and shouted out “Forallsake!”
Ben forgot that Carolina was there and did not have time to neither protect himself nor attack her back. And right at where he was standing, a white light was shot through his heart, knocking him out.
Carolina felt so exhausted. She never knew that the finishing magic would require so much energy. But she was contented. At last she could do magic and saved someone’s life.
“Thank you so much. I don’t know what to say. I owe you all this,” said Carl who was standing in front of her.
“No. I owe you. Your Grandma was really helpful. She taught me a lot,” she replied. Then she remained silent for a moment before she opened her mouth again. “But I am still wondering. Why were you mad at me that time? Did I do anything wrong?”
“You didn’t Carol. It’s just me. At that time, I had just discovered about my Dad’s evil deed and scared to death. Everything seemed to go wrong. I couldn’t concentrate in class and I avoided my friends, including you. I’m sorry, my fault.” Carl looked away, avoiding Carolina’s eyes. He really felt guilty. “Anyway, thanks to you, the evil is gone.”
“It’s okay. I think I would do the same if I were in your shoes. Or even worse,” Carolina could not blame him. She was pessimist about Carl. “I’m really sorry about your Dad.” She was really sympathised at him.
“Please don’t be. He’s evil.”
“Is Grandma okay? I think I’m going to live with her from now on and take care of her.” Carl changed the topic.
“I reckon you should do so. She’s now resting after being attacked by your Dad. I think she’ll be fine.”
“Yeah… She won’t die that easy,” joked Carl with a smile that Carolina missed a lot. Carolina smiled back.
She had never felt any better. She was grateful Carl was the one who caught her sneaking book months ago. Besides, she had successfully proved that she could do magic although she was a late blossom.
That was when she remembered a few words she read from Elizabeth’s book;
“When the flower blooms does not really matter. What matter most is how beautiful it would be when it blooms. And sometimes late blossom is more beautiful than the others.”
Thinking of these words made Carolina smiled. Forever she would keep them in her mind.
~The end~

*sighs* (i know that a sigh would make us lose one happiness.well, that’s what was told by a character in anime pita-ten, but i still wanna sigh…) *sighs* okay, 2 happinesses have gone. that’s enough. i afraid i’d lose all of my happiness. ^_^
i bet you know why i sigh. oh, if you don’t, i’d like to take back my bet. lol. it’s because of the exams of course. this morning we had sat for nihongo achievement test and it was quite difficult. thank God most of what i revised the night before (which was..last night) were in the paper. i didn’t study the whole book actually. hehe.. my luck maybe. tomorrow, we’re going to change our nihongo class. class streaming, i mean. we haven’t changed class since ’bout 2 months ago. and this would be quite tedious since we have to be separated. T_T sayonara friends! huhu… oh yea, i forgot. i was supposed to talk about exams instead of nihongo class. well, we’ll sit for butsuri (phys) and kagaku (chem) exams next saturday. which is, the day after tomorrow. the exams are going to be fully in japanese and we are grateful we are allowed to bring denshi jisho into the exam hall. btw, denshi jisho means electronic dictionary. i don’t meant dictionary about electronic here, it’s like digital data viewer. hope the exams are not so tough.
i know blog misses my new post. my last post was…when? last year! OMG. but don’t worry. i’m typing a new one right at this moment. and hey, i’ve written a shortstory which was actually for my english assignment. wanna read it? i’ll post it next time. it’s not a really good, magnficent, tremendous, splendid, one though. but i enjoyed writing it.
till then.
jaa!
